Proactive Behaviours That Promote Wellbeing

In these uncertain times where health care systems are overwhelmed, taking a proactive approach to your overall wellbeing is a great idea. To achieve overall healthy wellbeing, it will require that you look at your daily practices and at ways you can build positive habits.

We must admit that being proactive and organized about wellness can be difficult. Some simple ways to get started with an exercise regimen can include walking with friends, swimming or playing with the kids. Getting exercise can be exciting when you do fun activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding or riding bikes. You may even get your family to join in while getting extra physical activity into your daily routine.

Wellbeing is not limited only to physical activity. To achieve true wellbeing, you should also look at your mental wellbeing and nutrition. No, this doesn’t mean you need to see a shrink! Affirmations, meditation, learning to cook healthy meals and other activities that relieve stress can help prevent burnout and keep you feeling refreshed and energized.

‘Without mental health there can be no true physical health’ – Dr Brock Chisholm, World Health Organization (WHO)
